Update on the Deutschland-Semesterticket – September 2023

Dear students,

we have more information about the semester ticket for you. Please note that we have not yet signed a contract with the VBB – so there may still be changes. We have already received a lot of feedback from you and would now like to bring you up to date.

Basically: From the summer semester of 2024, i.e. from April 1st, 2024, there will be a semester ticket again. In principle, the semester ticket corresponds to the scope of the Deutschlandticket, which means that it is valid for local transport throughout Germany.

Important: The notice period with effect from April 1st for the (privately purchased) Deutschlandticket is March 10th. So cancel early so that you don’t pay for two tickets!

According to current planning, the ticket will only be offered personalized and digitally, i.e. via an app with a QR code. An analogue variant, e.g. chip card or similar, is not currently planned. The price of the Deutschlandticket is included in the amount of the confirmation. For the summer semester, the price is €176.40. The implementation of the digital ticket is currently still in the planning stages. As soon as we have new information, we will inform you accordingly.
